Catholic Schools Week
Jesus was called 'Teacher' in the Gospels more than any other title (30 times)
Unlike the Scribes and Pharisees, Jesus spoke with authority...
'You have heard it said...., but I say this to you....'
'Amen, amen I say to you....'
Jesus' commanding presence wasn't the result of an inflated ego.
It stemmed from the trust and confidence he had in God's love for him.
That gave him the insight to see things differently,
from a perspective of love rather than selfishness,
of service rather than power,
of healing and forgiving rather than condemning.
Catholic schools are in a time of change and challenge.
We pray this week that through our Catholic Schools we
keep alive Christ's spirit of love,
enriching children, parents and teachers
with a renewed sense of God's goodness and mercy,
enlightening them in today's world of change and challenge.
