The Ascension of the Lord
A feast to celebrate Jesus as Lord....
more than an exemplary human.
Many idols are worshiped today
but there is only one Lord.
Christ is the mediator between God and man. (Preface)
A feast of hope....
He has passed beyond our sight, not to abandon us
but to be our hope....
where he has gone we hope to follow. (Preface)
Hope in our present needs
because he is representing us,
interceding with the Father....
Hope for the future
for he has gone to prepare a place for us.

Go out to the whole world.
He no longer walks our roads in one physical body.
But all who are initiated in his name through baptism,
confirmation and eucharist are commissioned,
sharers in his mission..
